Well, that certainly was a very difficult year for everyone.

For many people it was of course completely horrid.

Maybe now there is a glimmer of sunshine in the distance for us all.

There was however very good news for Sellers and Buyers alike.

From May our sales volumes increased by at least 50%. This means that many more houses came onto the market, and there were lots of buyers around. That is the sort of fluid market which makes the whole process easier for everyone.

While part of that was likely due to the temporary reduction in Stamp Duty, another reason is emerging from most people we talk to.

We believe that the Pandemic has made many people, possibly all around the world, re-assess their lives. A lot of people seem to have been re-setting their priorities. Work/life, time commuting, quality of work, families, friends. Faced with so many important possible adjustments, a lot of homeowners, and people getting on the ladder, seem to have said ‘life is short, money is cheap- lets get on with it’

While we hope that people continue to find something positive, there seems to be no reason why a good and active market will not continue into the Spring and beyond.

Tenants too have remained very proactive as they must be going through the same resetting of their lives. Our stock of rented homes continues to increase, as Investors realise that the long-term prospects are still good.
